Outplacement
Outplacement Maastricht - Find guidance in case of dismissal
With outplacement in Maastricht, it may be useful to consider how broadly you want to search: within your current profession, beyond it or potentially across the border. Together, we determine which options fit your experience, language skills and personal circumstances.
- A coach who knows which roles sit alongside healthcare
- Searching across the Belgian and German border, if you want to
- You put the programme together yourself from eight components
- Also for a group of departing employees

Outplacement: support towards a new future
What is outplacement?
Outplacement provides support with your next career step. The cost is usually covered by your current employer. You work with a dedicated coach throughout the programme, you assemble which components take part yourself, and the introductory meeting costs nothing.
Outplacement provides support with your next career step. The cost is usually covered by your current employer. The arrangement is written into your settlement agreement, or into the social plan if there is one. Let the document be checked and sign only afterwards: having your settlement agreement reviewed.
The order the phases come in, and the reason for it, is covered on what an outplacement programme involves.
What does an outplacement process look like at Care4Careers in Maastricht?
Our approach in 5 steps
Eight components stand ready and come up spread across the five steps below. Ad hoc help lacks that build-up: with outplacement the route is fixed and you fill it in.
Many people opt for a modular programme: together with your coach you decide where to put the effort. Here you will find our modules.
Personal intake
Where do you want to search, and how far? We ask that before anything else happens, because everything after it depends on the answer.
Coaching and assessment
Assessment and conversation show which of your experience survives a move out of your own sector.
Preparing for the market
Your CV is written for the reader you want to reach, and that reader is not always in the Netherlands.
Job search and network
You do the approaching yourself, prepared and per organisation. We work out who you need to reach.
Aftercare and support
The first months in the new place are part of it, certainly after a move between sectors.

Situations that can lead to a new career direction
When outplacement is used
Some transitions are visible months ahead; others develop gradually. The programme reflects how much clarity you already have.
Restructuring makes your current position redundant
If your job disappears, we investigate where your experience can be useful next and what kind of change you want.
The contract period is coming to an end
Before the final date, you can create focus and define the scope of your search.
Departure is agreed through mutual consent
Outplacement may be funded as part of the arrangements and provide professional support through the transition.
Returning after absence is not sustainably feasible
If employment subsequently ends, we focus on work that suits your current capabilities, strengths and preferences.
Outplacement in Maastricht
From work to work, with a wider search area than you think
Most people search within their own field, in their own language, on their own side of the border. In this region that costs you options. How far you push those three boundaries is your call, but you do need to know what lies on the other side.
2,000 euros is the floor, 5,000 the ceiling
The entry rate covers coaching and assessment. Every component you add on top counts up, to a maximum of 5,000 euros, both excluding VAT. What it comes to in your case is stated in the quote you get beforehand.
More sits beside your field than you suspect
Healthcare experience also counts at insurers, laboratories and schools. Which roles those are is something we work out before you apply anywhere.
Crossing the border needs thought
There is an administrative side to it. Insurance, pension and tax filing run differently once your salary comes from another country; we point out where that will chafe and when you need an adviser.
Signing is not the end of it
The first months decide whether the move holds, certainly if you have changed sector. Your coach stays reachable during that period.
What you are working towards
You know exactly how far your search area reaches, and inside that boundary you are already in a new place.
Who guides you
The coaches at Stationsplein
One fixed contact person who knows the employers in Zuid-Limburg and what working across the border means in practice. You can meet at Stationsplein or on screen.
Our office
Outplacement in Maastricht and nearby
Our Maastricht location is on Stationsplein, directly opposite the station. The load here falls on healthcare, education and hospitality, which carry this region, with the academic hospital, the university and Zuyd as the largest names. What makes this labour market unusual is its shape: Zuid-Limburg to the north, Belgium to the west and Germany to the east, all within half an hour.
About Maastricht
Good to know about Maastricht
Healthcare here is a chain, not one employer
Around the academic hospital sits a network of institutions, laboratories and research groups. Leaving healthcare does not have to mean leaving the chain; the roles alongside it often ask for the same experience in a different shape.
Three countries, two extra languages
Liège, Hasselt and Aachen are within half an hour. That widens your search area considerably, but it needs a CV that reads for a Belgian or German reader, which is not the same as a translation.
One coach, from intake to after your first month
You do not change contact person along the way. Someone who already knows your story does not need to hear it again, and that saves weeks.
Stationsplein, opposite the platform
From Sittard, Heerlen or Roermond you step off the train and you are there. No travel needed? Then the programme runs on screen, with the same coach.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about outplacement
How long does a programme take?
Three to six months for a full programme. The duration of the programme depends on your question and the support you need. If your direction is already clear, the emphasis may be more on applications, networking and approaching employers. In every case you keep the same coach.
I am in healthcare and want to leave it. Is that possible?
Yes, and it is a common question here. Healthcare experience counts at insurers, laboratories, schools and regulators, and the step is smaller than it feels from the inside. The hard part is translating your experience, not the experience itself. Which directions fit is set out at what kind of work suits me.
Do you search in Belgium and Germany too?
If you want us to. Liège, Hasselt and Aachen are within half an hour and are short of people in the same sectors. If you would rather stay in the Netherlands, we leave it at that; it is your choice and not our default.
I do not speak Dutch. Will that work?
It will. At the university, in research and in part of the healthcare sector English is the working language. Part of our team coaches entirely in English, from CV to interview practice.
When can we start?
Once the assignment has been confirmed, we arrange the start of the programme as soon as possible. The introductory conversation carries no charge and no commitment, and anything you send is answered inside 24 hours.
We are signing up a number of employees together. Does everyone get the same?
No. Each employee builds a programme from our modules together with their coach: one only needs interview training, another needs assessment and coaching first to find a direction. What there is to choose is at the modules.
