Second track integration

When returning to one's own position is not possible, the Gatekeeper Improvement Act requires second track reintegration.

Second track reintegration aims to guide employees to appropriate and permanent work with another employer, in line with their resilience, talents and future prospects.

Care4Careers does this in a people-oriented, result-oriented and fully customized way. We offer customized track 2 routes.

What is second track reintegration?

Second track reintegration is guidance for employees who are no longer able to return to their own position or within the organization after a long illness.

When an employee can no longer return to their own organization, the second track is started. The second track process helps employees to give direction, regain self-confidence and actively take advantage of opportunities in the labor market. It is also a legal obligation for employers and prevents high absenteeism costs or sanctions from the UWV.

“Thanks to Care4Careers, I was able to take the right career step. Their personal approach and knowledge of the regional labor market really made the difference.”

Why start second track reintegration?

Reintegration of the second track increases the chance of sustainable, appropriate work outside your own organization.

When returning to your own organization is no longer possible, reintegration offers a second track perspective. For employees, this means professional guidance to provide direction, regain self-confidence and find a suitable job in a sustainable way.

For employers, following a track 2 process is not only a legal obligation under the Gatekeeper Improvement Act, but also a way to limit absenteeism costs and ensure the continuity of the organization. Personal guidance and customized solutions create a win-win: the employee gets a new chance on the labor market and the employer meets the requirements and invests in people-oriented policies.

Efficient return

We accelerate the reintegration process by providing clarity and structure. This helps employees find a new perspective more quickly and gives employers control over the process.

Tailored support

No process is the same. We fully tailor our guidance to the employee's personal situation and the needs of the organization.

Regaining confidence and direction

Through coaching, reflection and career insights, new energy, direction and faith in your own abilities are created.

Second track reintegration costs

Second track reintegration costs an average of between €2,000 and €7,500

The costs depend on the duration, content and intensity of the reintegration process.

Each second track process is fully tailored to the situation of the employee and the organization. This means that we only use what is really necessary: from individual coaching and labour market exploration to application support or work experience positions. This way, the process remains efficient, affordable and focused on sustainable results, without unnecessary modules or costs.

Who pays for second track reintegration?

Reintegration track 2 is in most cases paid by the employer.

According to the Gatekeeper Improvement Act, the employer is responsible for reintegration when an employee is ill for a long time and cannot return to their own position.

At Care4Careers, we work with customized programs that are tailored to the situation, so that the employer invests in an effective and sustainable process.

When is second-track reintegration applied?

When an employee is unable to return to their own position or another suitable role within the organization due to long-term illness, second-track reintegration  is initiated.

With personal guidance, job market orientation and practical support, Care4Careers helps employees to work sustainably with another employer. This prevents long-term absenteeism, high costs and possible sanctions from the UWV.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about reintegration track 2.
What is a second track reintegration?
The second track integration is guidance where an employee, who cannot return to their own organization, is helped to find suitable work with another employer — mandatory under the Gatekeeper Improvement Act.
What is the difference between outplacement and second track reintegration?
Outplacement focuses on finding a new job outside the organization after dismissal. Second track reintegration takes place during illness, seeking appropriate work outside your own organization, in accordance with the Gatekeeper Improvement Act.
Where does the track 2 route take place?
Our processes are hybrid: participants can choose to have conversations on location (including in Gouda, Emmen and other cities), online via Teams, or a combination of these. Care4careers has the opportunity to have conversations at more than 55 locations in the Netherlands.
How long does a track 2 route take?
On average, a track 2 process takes 6 to 12 months. The exact duration depends on the employee's situation, resilience and job opportunities.
Do you have experience with people with a migration background?
Yes, we supervise a diverse group of participants. Our coaches are trained in inclusive career guidance and have extensive experience with people with diverse cultural backgrounds.
What happens during a track 2 process?
During the process, the employee works on self-insight, recovery and discovering new opportunities. There is guidance in setting up a search profile, application training, job search and active mediation for suitable work.
Do you also offer second track reintegration in English?
Yes, definitely. We offer complete second track reintegration programs in English for international employees or expats. Our coaches are experienced in supervising non-Dutch speaking candidates and tailor the process to both the language and the cultural context.
Is track 2 reintegration reimbursed by the UWV or the employer?
In almost all cases, the employer pays for the journey. This falls under the reintegration obligation under the Gatekeeper Improvement Act. There are therefore no costs for employees.
What is the difference between track 1 and track 2?
Track 1 focuses on returning to your own organization, possibly in an adapted position. Track 2 is the next step when this fails, and focuses on finding work with another employer.
What if a reintegration track 2 fails?
If sustainable placement does not appear to be possible, Care4Careers supports you in subsequent steps, such as a WIA application and the careful completion of the file for the UWV.
When does a second track reintegration start?
Reintegration track 2 usually starts after the first year of illness, as soon as it becomes clear that returning to one's own position or adapted work is not feasible. The employer is then obliged to start this process together with the employee.
How quickly can you start a track 2 process?
We can start within a few days. After the employer's agreement, we schedule an intake interview and compile the customized process together.
