How do you choose a good reintegration agency?

A good reintegration office makes the difference between downtime and sustainable reintegration. But how do you find the right agency that suits your situation and goals?

1. Start with a targeted online search

Use keywords like second track reintegration office in combination with your region or industry. Note that the agencies at the top of Google aren't necessarily the best — this often says more about ad budget or SEO than about quality.

When orienting, check:

  • Does the agency specialize in second track?
  • Do they have experience with your industry or type of organization?
  • Are their coaches highly visible and certified?

Also read customer reviews or view case stories, if available.

2. Use reintegration comparison platforms

There are several platforms where you can compare reintegration agencies based on working methods, labels, region and specialty. Examples include:

  • Noloc (professional association of career professionals)
  • Werksite, a comparison website for career guidance
  • You can also use reintegrationkiezen.nl, here reintegration agencies are also compared

3. Ask your network for experiences

Personal experiences remain valuable. Ask fellow employers, HR professionals or people who have completed a second track themselves:

  • How was the guidance?
  • Was there sufficient attention for the employee?
  • Was the file legally in order?

Please note that experiences may vary by coach or situation. What worked for one person may not apply to another.

4. Check labels and certification

See if the reintegration office is affiliated with Blik op Werk or Noloc. That says something about:

  • Customer satisfaction (measured by audits)
  • Professional competence of coaches
  • Compliance with ethical codes of conduct

Yet it remains only one piece of the puzzle. Combine labels with personal conversations and practical examples to get a complete picture.

5. Always schedule an introductory meeting

A good click is essential, especially when it comes to a process that can take months. In such a conversation, note:

  • The approach: is it clear, concrete and tailored to your situation?
  • Communication: do you get answers to questions quickly?
  • The experience: will you get one permanent coach or multiple contacts?

Feel free to ask questions about their file structure, contact moments with employers/employees and experience with UWV processes.
