Outplacement coaching helps you find a new job faster and more focused after dismissal — with more confidence and clarity about your career direction.
Outplacement coaching is for employees who have been laid off or know this is coming. It is intensive guidance aimed at finding new, suitable work. But the process does more: it provides direction, reflection and concrete application skills. For employers, outplacement is a way to say goodbye carefully, prevent reputational damage and support sustainable transitions.
Outplacement coaching is individual guidance in finding a new job after (imminent) dismissal. Together with a coach, you will work to process the dismissal, discover your qualities, choose the right course and apply successfully.
So the focus is not only on “finding work”, but also on personal development, self-confidence and sustainable employability. The outplacement process often consists of components such as career research, job counseling and personal coaching.

This applies not only to reorganizations, but also to individual dismissal or in the event of a conflict. In some cases, employees opt for outplacement themselves, for example after a burnout or prolonged doubt about their current position.

Outplacement coaching offers both employer and employee clear advantages:
Outplacement can also be part of a settlement agreement. It gives both parties a constructive way of concluding employment.
An average outplacement process consists of the following steps:
The employee and coach explore expectations and goals together.
What are your motives, talents, pitfalls and wishes? This provides a clear profile.
Together, you will research occupations, sectors and vacancies that match your profile.
You will receive help in creating a professional resume, strong motivation letters and preparing for interviews.
Resignation is often accompanied by grief, doubt and uncertainty. The coach helps you to become stronger in this regard.
The process ends with reflection and possibly additional guidance while starting your new job.

Note: If you notice that an employee is often ill or overburdened, you should not simply offer an outplacement process. It is better to start with career guidance. This allows you to catch signs of mismatch in time, without legal risks. And the great thing: career guidance is often a valuable precursor to a possible later outplacement process.
Outplacement can be offered individually or in groups. At Care4Careers, we mainly work with 1-on-1 coaching programs, so that the program fully matches the employee's unique situation. We believe in customization: no standard formats, but guidance tailored to someone's career phase, field and personal situation.
