One outplacement process takes an average of 3 to 12 months, depending on the situation, guidance and job market opportunities.
The length of an outplacement process varies from employee to employee. Sometimes 3 months of guidance is sufficient, while 9 to 12 months are common for intensive retraining programs. Factors such as personal circumstances, the labor market and the chosen form of guidance play a major role.
Most outplacement processes have a duration of 6 to 9 months. This gives enough time to process emotions after dismissal, to determine a career direction and to actively approach the labor market. Shorter journeys are possible when someone already knows clearly what step they want to take.
